Brazil • States
Brazil
27 places: 26 states and the Distrito Federal (Federal District), around the capital, Brasília.
The North
Seven states across the Amazon. Amazonas and Pará, the two biggest, take up much of the map.
The Center-West
Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Goiás in the middle, and the Distrito Federal (Federal District), set into Goiás.
The Northeast
Nine states on the bulge where the coast turns south, from Maranhão round to Bahia. The small ones line the eastern tip.
The South and Southeast
São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo, then the three southern states down to Uruguay: Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul.
Where You'll Start
You'll start with the anchors, a few places to hang the rest on: Amazonas, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, and Rio Grande do Sul. Then chapter by chapter, or the whole deck at random.
