Caribbean • Islands

The Caribbean

61 islands, each its own place: Trinidad and Tobago are two, and Hispaniola is one, though it's two countries. Most need zooming to find.

The Greater Antilles

The big four, west to east: Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico, with smaller islands of their own: Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth) off Cuba, and Vieques and Culebra off Puerto Rico.

The Western Caribbean

The three Caymans, south of Cuba, then Cozumel, off Mexico, and Roatán, off Honduras.

The Atlantic

The Bahamas, a long chain running southeast from off Florida, with the Turks and Caicos at its end. Bermuda comes too, far out to the north.

The Eastern Arc

From the Virgin Islands, an arc of small islands curves south toward South America: the Leewards, then the Windwards. Barbados sits apart, out to the east.

The Southern Caribbean

Off South America's coast: Trinidad and Tobago, Isla de Margarita (Margarita Island), and Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire.

Where You'll Start

You'll start with the anchors, a few places to hang the rest on: Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad. Then chapter by chapter, or the whole deck at random.
